Project Blindfold Sheds Light On Youth Homelessness In Los Angeles

Project Blindfold, a grassroots community movement to help bring resources and opportunity to youth and families experiencing homelessness, recently premiered a music video in collaboration with The Union Rescue Mission and The Good Company.

This music video features the song “Blindfold”, with vocals by Ruby Chase and Children of Project Blindfold. The lyrics are by MC Woes and the music was composed by 6blocc. The video and song recording features children experiencing homelessness performing with trained dancers/actors. The short was produced by Stacey Thiel and directed by JaQuel Knight, and Executive Produced by Justine Sophia, Jonathan Lia, and Brian Welsh.

Filmed around downtown Los Angeles, the music video is meant to further the foundation’s mission: to raise awareness of the children who are homeless and living on skid row. The founder of Project Blindfold, School of Cinematic Arts senior Justine Sophia, spoke about the organization’s mission by saying “During all of the things happening in the world right now, it is more important than ever that we stay together in unity and continue as a community to shepherd resources and opportunity to families experiencing homelessness.”

Project Blindfold stands with Black Lives Matter for the future of the next generation. The foundation also recognizes that the Covid-19 pandemic is particularly damaging those vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness.
